Jonas Zürcher was born in Stans and grew up in the Reuss valley in Aargau. From 2006 to 2012, he completed his bachelor and pedagogical master’s degree at the Zurich University of the Arts with Prof. Adalbert Roetschi, majoring in piano. During this time he also appeared as a soloist with the Huttwiler Chamber Orchestra and recorded works by Erich Schmid in the Radio Studio Zurich. Out of interest in historically oriented music making, he continued his studies at the ZHdK from 2012 to 2014 as part of the harpsichord performance master with Prof. Michael Biehl and since 2013 has been a member of the Baroque ensemble Lusciniol. For artistic enrichment, he attended in summer 2014, the harpsichord master class with Aline Zylberajch. In the winter of 2015 he participated in the performance of the concerts for the three and four harpsichords by J. S. Bach under the direction of Monika Baer. Jonas Zürcher is a passionate pedagogue and teaches piano at the Musikschule Knonauer Amt.
