The soprano Meret Roth studied at the Zurich University of the Arts and graduated with her master’s degree in the class of Jane Thorner-Mengedoht with distinction and prize of the Werner and Berti Alter Foundation. She completed her bachelor’s degree with a focus on baroque singing with Jill Feldman. Meret Roth received important artistic impulses at master classes and workshops with Barbara Hannigan, Donatienne Michel-Dansac, Marijana Mijanovic, Sarah Maria Sun, Daniel Fueter and Jakob Stämpfli.
Meret is not only interested in the interpretation of baroque and contemporary works, music theater and improvisation, but also devotes himself with great devotion to the art song and ensemble vocals. In addition to engagements as a soprano in classical and baroque concert, she is active as a speaker and actress.
She is a member of the baroque ensemble Lusciniol, the vocal ensemble The Zurich Chamber Singers, as well as the ensemble VISIT THE SONGS by Edward Rushton.
